The Axis in World War II grew out with the German's taking over a lot of countries and making them part of their Nazi government. In 1936 Mussolini joined forces with the Nazi's. The most powerful army's were Germany at the top and the Italy with Mussolini and then there was Japan who would always be involved.

The Blitzkriegs
This was one of the best tactics that the Germans had to bring down their opponents. This was Hitler's favorite tactic because it would have more damage. They first use the Blitzkrieg against the Poland army in 1939. After that attack they tried it against the Belgium, Netherlands, and France one year later and were successful in their attacks. The Blitzkrieg was also know as the "lighting war".

D-DAY
D-DAY was one of the biggest battles that World War II had, and one of the deadliest battles in history also. This battle began on June 6, 1944 when about 156,000 soldiers from U.S.A, Britain, and Canada landed on 5 different beaches in Normandy to start the battle against the Nazi's. The most known battle for the U.S. is the one that took place in Omaha beach because during that battle there was a lot of American soldiers that died.
